Presidential Candidates and Your Health Care

Health care is a central issue these days on the campaign trail. Do you know what your favorite political candidate thinks about health care and how they would improve the system? It is important to take the time and really figure this out. The following is some of the ways that Senators McCain and Obama would attack the health care system if they were elected President. It is important that you take your time and really make sure that you know how your vote will matter. If you want to be a responsible voter then you will learn as much as you possibly can. Today that issue we want to discuss is the health care system.

McCain on Health Care

Senator McCain believes that in order to get the best treatment you should not be limited to the health insurance in your state. You should be able to cross state borders. He believes that families must be in control of their health care dollars and they should have input into how it is working. Your health care needs to be there for you. McCain believes that it should follow you from job to job, and it should not take a break if you take a leave of absence to raise kids or nurse injury. Senator McCain wants to see drug prices lowered by making generic drugs more readily available to those who need them. States will also be rewarded under the McCain Plan for experimentation and new development in ways of providing health care. This plan wants to look out for you even if you have preexisting conditions or have not held health insurance before. Obama on Health Care

Senator Obama believes that no money should be wasted for national health care. If any is found then it is immediately recycled into the health care for other programs. Doctors, hospitals, etc. must report their costs accurately in order to help make sure no money is wasted. Obama realizes that there are states that have this process of health care down. His plan will not stop those states and will allow them to build upon the progress that they have put in place. In the Obama plan businesses either have to contribute towards the health care of their employees, or they must contribute towards the national program. If you still wish to purchase private insurance then that is still opened to you. However, new regulations will be put in place to control this. Nobody should be turned down because of preexisting conditions. If you switch jobs then do not worry about losing your insurance.
